Judge Engoron rules to allow President Donald Trump’s $175 million bond to stand
James wanted the judge to void the bond which would effectively stop Trump's appeal and allow her to start seizing Trump assets. I was fairly certain Engoron would rule for James and make the appeals court overturn him. It turns out I was wrong. Perhaps he knew he would be overturned and that he would just look bad if he allowed that to happen.
Either way, the bond stands, the appeal will be heard, and the ridiculous case will be either reversed or the judgement will be significantly reduced. There is simply no precedent anywhere in the history of the United States for a state to accuse someone of fraud, not prove any fraud, and then get a half billion dollar judgement.
