So basically... Joe Biden had stashed some classified documents in his private office while he was Vice President. No doubt (ahem) they were nuclear secrets or something he was selling to the highest bidder? Or perhaps those thoughts are reserved for when the media hears about Trump still having documents marked classified.
Sadly, these documents have been sitting in a private unsecured location and not in the national archives for six years. A horrifying actions that everyone on the left has assured us is a jailable offense. But again, I am thinking that those laws only apply to certain politicians.
Either way, the irony here is delicious. Right in the middle of a special counsel that is supposed to be indicting Donald Trump for having classified documents outside of the national archives, we find that Joe Biden also did the exact same thing... and nobody will give the first thought to investigating old Joe.
But you wanna bet that The Donald makes a big deal out of this?
I assume the narrative will be that Biden is cooperating with the Archives while they will argue that Trump was not. But the fallacy of that argument is that it then becomes a Presidential Archives issue between a former President and the Archives (which is what Trump says it is). Because that Presidential records act has no criminal punishment assigned to it.
The argument they have been making all along was that just having the documents was the crime. That they were "taken" or "stolen" - rather than the more plausible explanation that they are part of the Presidential records and that some classified documents slipped through the cracks. After all the FBI missed all of the latest Trump documents…
Clinton had the tape recordings in the sock drawer. Obama moved everything to a warehouse in Chicago. Biden had classified records in a private office.
But they want to charge Trump with a crime?
Well Biden has a good defense
He's mentally incompetent
As Comey says no reasonable prosecutor would charge him
plus he's a Democrat
now back to stringing up Republicans
