Great minds think alike!

“The Democratic Party [is] the bedfellow of international communism.” Those words from Sen. Joe McCarthy captured the gist of the Red Scare and the use of blacklists and personal attacks to silence critics. The Democrats this week appear to have taken up the same cudgel in labeling opponents and critics Russian sympathizers and fellow travelers in opposing government involvement in a massive censorship system.
The Red Scare is back and it is going blue.
The article seems familiar to me as I wrote a post the other day entitled Latest Twitter Files reveal Modern day McCarthyism
When you start to compare what was done during the so called "red scare" back in the 40s and 50s with what has been taking place over the past few years surrounding accusations of a whole list of Russian sympathizers, the similarities are striking. They create a boogie man (Communism or Russia) and then they find dishonest ways to associate their political opponents with said boogie man as a means to undermine them.
Anyways, Turley is obviously a whole lot more important in the larger aspect of this. More known, more relevant, and more credible. He is actually currently an expert witness in these congressional hearings. But his opinion as a top constitutional law professor lends lots of credence to my similar (or same) opinions regarding the whole modern day censorship and accusations of Russian sympathy being another red scare. As they say... great minds think alike!
