Fauci demands that even if Covid started from a lab leak, that we should consider that "natural"

Now we are arguing semantics here. Fauci went from "it was not a lab leak" to "it might be a lab leak but that doesn't mean it was the fault of the lab".

This guy has become a real piece of work, folks. Oh, and he cannot appear to keep his lies straight anymore.

The reality is that not only did Fauci demand that there was no chance this was a lab leak, but he also pushed social media and others to censor any suggestion that it was.

As they say... the truth doesn't mind being questioned but a lie hates being challenged.

So now as pretty much everyone on the planet has admitted that Covid almost certainly started from a Chinese gain of function lab leak, Fauci has changed his tune... sort of.

He still makes arguments as to why he believes Covid to be "natural" even as he admits that it actually might have started from a lab. He continues to argue the same things he argued before, even as those arguments seem irrelevant to the current situation. It would be one thing if he was just attempting to justify how he might have gotten it wrong... but he seems to not be willing to back away from the idea that his former beliefs should still be taken as valid even if they were wrong.

Sometimes in this world you are just wrong. Even if you had every reason at one time to believe you were correct. The bigger problem here is that I am not so certain that Fauci ever really believed what he was arguing. I believe he was heavily invested in gain of function research and did not want to see that sort of research blamed for a global pandemic. I believe that his personal stake in the argument either skewed his judgement or more likely made it important for him to lie.

Either way... Fauci was wrong about a lot of things. His policies are the reason why the US had 17% of all Covid deaths with only 4% of the world's population. His explanation about the origins were corrupt to the bone... consciously or subconsciously.
