Even Jimmy Kimmel admits people probably are only pretending to like Bad Bunny.

They like him because the bad orange man doesn't.
There are a ton of clips like this one on social media, showing the crowd looking either confused or uninterested. You get the occasional person who appears to be a fan, as well as some who are nodding their heads like they feel some sort of beat, but nobody is dancing int he aisles or jumping up and down like we have seen in past super bowl performances.
I suspect that most of the energy was down on the field, with the paid dancers, and from all of the fireworks and such. By some accounts, the side show for this particular event (all the pyrotechnics and such) was the most expensive in history, proving that they didn't feel that bad bunny could pull this off without lots of help. I am still not sure he did.
Meanwhile, the show actually drew about 10 million less than last year's half time show with Kendrick Lamar or Lamar Kendrick (I can never remember) which is unusual. Most of the time these shows grow and not decline. Perhaps it was people tuning out and tuning in for other things (such as the kid rock show) or perhaps they just didn't bother to watch.
Either way, Kimmel (like a broken clock) is right every once in a while. I bet that there are many people who simply hate Trump so much that they will pretend to like bad bunny just for spite.
