Even a majority of Democrats want Hunter Biden prosecuted for contept of congress.

Will the partisan Justice department remain faithful to being a banana republic by only going after political opponents?

Steve Bannon was charged by the Justice department for contempt of congress after failing to appear before Congress. By all accounts, this was pushed at the insistence of our President Joe Biden who publicly proclaimed that Bannon and others had to be held accountable. Now the President's son openly flaunted a congressional subpoena that was issued under the authority of three different Congressional committees, including the judicial committee who has full powers to issue bullet proof legal subpoenas as part of their jobs. The fact that two other committees also had their names on the subpoena only act to prove how legitimate it is as a subpoena.

As far as the poll goes, 54% of Democrats, 89% of Republicans, and 72% of independents beleive that Hunter should be prosecuted for his failure to appear. I think at this point even the Democrats are really to toss Hunter under the bus here.

Now it seems obvious that the President had to be aware of what Hunter was going to do (at least to the degree that Joe is aware of anything these days). So he had to know that this issue would come up? Was he once again expecting that there would be some partian double standard political cover provided to Hunter that was not provided to Bannon and others. Either way, this puts the President and Attorney General in a tough spot and I have no clue what the Bidens were thinking when they decided to pull the stunt that they did. I believe at this point it is just arrogance (going back to the previous article) of Democrats believing that they have the power and should do what they want with it. I am sure that both Joe and Hunter believe that Garland will not push any prosecution here.

Perhaps they are correct and once again Garland will prove what a destructive, partisan, and historically poor Attorney General he is. Because there is literally no excuse (good or even bad) that can justify not charging Hunter after going so hard to make sure Trump associates were prosecuted. They still might try to make one. I sort of hope they do, just so everyone can see the open hypocrisy of our Biden justice department.
