Did Obama and Harris really coordinate the Biden removal?

"Obama called Biden after breakfast and said, ‘Here’s the deal. We have Kamala’s approval to invoke the 25th Amendment.'"

A new Substack out from Seymour Hersch indicates that former President Barack Obama and VP Kamala Harris, now presumptive Democrat nominee for president, threatened sitting President Joe Biden with the potential invocation of the 25th Amendment if he didn't drop out the presidential race and cede that spot to the veep. This would mean that not only did they force Biden out of the race, but that the Democrats know full well that Biden isn't fit to serve out the rest of his term, but are comfortable letting him continued as a figure head if it serves their efforts to retain power for the party.

In retrospect, this would make as much sense as anything. Biden went from only the lord almighty could force him out of the race, to suddenly and without any warning to anyone posting his decision to drop out of the race. Even then, he posted a clarification just minutes later where he endorsed Kamala Harris as his replacement on the ticket. This was not (as some suggested) an orchestrated deal from the Biden team, or something that came after much soul searching. This was a threat to totally humiliate him with a 25th amendment move to remove him (for incompetence) as the President.

For some reason, conservatives are fixated on Biden's remaining time as President. But I suspect that Biden has not been competently running the show for some time. What difference is the last few lame duck months going to matter. Whatever damage was done by having a senile President has likely been done already. The only thing that removing Biden would do right now is promote Harris to President, where she could argue that she is now the incumbent President.

Whether or not this story is true (and I suspect it is) the legacy liberal media will not report on it, for fear that it would cause issues with Biden supporters who might feel jilted that Obama and Harris plotted to have him step down. Right now they seem to be back in the race, but understand that the honeymoon period for Harris will come to a close at some time between now and then, and something like this being floated around could be damaging.
