A different man at the end than we remembered from when he was relevant.

Probably the most powerful and influential Vice Presidents is dead. Of course he also became one of the most well known member of the TDS club for neo-conservatives. It's no secret that most every neo-conservative from the "W" era has taken an abrupt turn left, many even completely leaving the Party and cheering for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Dick Cheney was no exception.
All that being said, if we focus on the man before he became obsessed with Trump, he was a pretty stalwart of the conservative movement. He truly believed in American excellence, the power of Democracy, and he believed that the United States had a certain responsibility to spread our excellence and to spread Democracy along side it. This led to many wars that led to nation building. An act in which western democracy was basically being spread in a manner not much different from any historical empire looking to expand power at the tip of the sword. The idea was to conquer and in a round about way, rule... by making sure people friendly to our cause were elected to run these nations. It was both noble and corrupt at the same time, as I suppose any empire throughout history was. Dick Cheney, more than probably any other political figure was responsible for our neo-conservative movement, for good or for bad.
RIP Dick.
