Criticism of Trump's statement about Rob Reiner forgets what just happened with Charlie Kirk.

To be clear, Trump did not celebrate Reiner's death. In fact, he even offered condolences in his own backhanded way.

So Trump called the death a very sad event. He called Reiner a very talented movie director and comedy star. He also ended his little tirade asking that Reiner and his wife rest in peace. On the flip side, he did suggested that Rob Reiner had some pretty big issues with Trump derangement syndrome and that his death may have been politically motivated . I think the first criticism is fair, but I also agree that he could have held off blaming the killing on his politics. From what we know, his son Nick and he had a big argument at a party the night prior to the killings. Nick has a history of substance abuse and mental health issues. There is no evidence that he was killed for political purposes.
Now the irony in all of this was that Reiner was not someone who celebrated Charlie Kirk's death himself. In fact, he condemned the killing, and even praised the manner in which Erika Kirk handled the situation. For someone who rarely showed much class when it came to politics, he was on point with his reaction to Kirk's killing. Perhaps his issues were more specific to Trump than to conservatives in general. Perhaps the President was correct about him just suffering from TDS, versus being a bigger PITA liberal.
But that doesn't change the fact that many other liberals did, in fact, celebrate Charlie Kirk's death and in some cases even mocked it. Many have been critical of Erika Kirk and how she has handled the situation with her husband and father of her children being murdered in cold blood. Many of these same people are now criticizing Trump for his post about Reiner in an act that is entirely hypocritical. Many who failed to criticize others for their behavior over Charlie Kirk are now criticizing Trump for his statements about Reiner. Again, the hypocrisy is outlandish.
So I hope this wasn't an issue with family politics. If it turns out that the argument was about politics and the politics was the issue, then I guess we would owe Trump an apology. But for now, I think Trump would have been better off removing the post and just sticking with the idea that it was a sad situation and that he hopes Reiner and his wife rest in peace.

If Meathead spent as much time and energy focused on parenting his kid as he did on hating Trump, he would likely still be alive.
Look at all the celebs who hate Trump with a blinding, raging passion, and then look at how fucked up their kids are. Reiner, DeNiro, O'Donnell, Nixon, etc.... the list goes on and on.
