The plight of America is "not my concern" states Mike Pence!
It would be one thing if you could argue that Pence didn't understand the question or if his answer was taken out of context. But he not only seems to understand the idea of a crumbling United States, but he repeats his suggestion that this is not his concern as a potential President? Not only that but, he apparently sees the idea of taking care of America first as a "routine" that is being used to fool people or something?
America first is going to be a Donald Trump issue. Remember when Bill Clinton went after Bush Sr (who was considered a great international foreign policy leader by all accounts) by suggesting that:
It's the economy stupid.
This is the same concept here. That is how Trump will attack Biden (who certainly seems more concerned with Ukraine than with America). But Pence apparently believes that American voters are going to be more concerned with Ukraine winning a war than with how the United States is doing as a country. Can he honestly believe that? Perhaps he feels this will be "his lane" and will allow him to distinguish himself from the larger pile of candidates. But this was boneheaded and I am not sure how he recovers.
All I know is that Pence is certainly "not my concern" right now!
I became a bigger fan of Tucker... he did a great job. An order of magnitude better than the MSM debate moderators of the past.
