Argues with Megyn Kelly that Hillary Clinton was not an election denier?
Maher basically has his ass handed to him as he starts to argue "semantics". When you are forced to resort to "semantics" to defend your view, it is time not to defend it anymore.
To be clear, the idea that January 6th (2021) was unique and uniquely horrifying is an idea that requires a great deal of cognitive dissonance. But it is the big lie that liberals will take their big lie stand on. Even those like Bill Maher has difficulty letting this go. Likely because if they admitted that January of 2017 was just as bad if not worse, then they lose that self-established moral high ground.
Anyways, Maher states that Hillary accepted the election and denies that Clinton ever suggested Trump was an illegitimate President. Kelly shows him videos where she states exactly that and then Maher pivots to the fact that she conceded, and Trump didn't. Actually, that is not true, either. Trump put out a video conceding the election shortly after the Jan 6th electoral college vote was held. But for some reason comparing Hillary demands that the election was stolen, and that Trump is illegitimate to Trump saying the same thing about 2020 and Job Biden is a false equivalency. Maher doesn't really tell us why it is false, just states it with a lot of confidence that he is right.
Maher has argued that many liberals believe they are right even when all the facts fly in their face. He should take a look in the mirror and maybe he will see that what is left of his liberal views probably falls under the same category.
