No longer a Trumpanomics things, but a Maganomics. Democrats continue to spin things rather than offer solutions.
The left is doing the double twisting elastic monkey dance in trying to convince people that things are much better economically today under Biden than they were pre-covid under Trump.
There isn't much to work with if you are a Democrat right now. I mean you can always tell everyone that Nobel prize winning economist Paul Krugman is on your side and that and a five spot might get you a cup of coffee. But otherwise, not much tangible. They have been talking about how inflation was dropping, until the last numbers suggested that it is increasing again. Mostly they are "hoping" that things get better in time for people to change their minds. In those regards, they are running out of time. Generally it takes months for an actual statistical improvement in the economy actually resonating in the minds of the voters. With Democrat pushing another Covid scare, the economy might have a harder struggle than we otherwise might without more talk of lockdowns and mandates.
Either way, the Democrats are looking to rely not on facts, but on what they believe is the "clever" rhetoric of using the term "maga" to describe something pushed by Republicans. Apparently they must believe that if they can put "maga" into a particular word or idea that the general public is stupid enough to just sour on whatever it is that they say is "maga". Wouldn't everyone rather have something called Bidenomics than Maganomics? I mean who cares how these actually work on our economy. The name is what is important.
The recent talking point on the left is that the economy is actually doing really really well, but Americans are just not seeing it. This may be due to maga-Republicans, maga-journalist, or maga-magicians convincing people that they should trust what they see and feel rather than the experts on the left who know better. In other words, Democrats do not need to change anything they are doing. Taxing more and spending money in Ukraine and pushing green solutions is sound economic policy. The public just needs to be educated and stop looking at their bank accounts.
This may end up being the main 2020 election debate. Trump asking people to remember that things were better 5-6 years ago when Trump was in charge. Biden and Democrats suggesting that people should trust them (rather then themselves) when they tell them that things are way better under "Bidenomics" and that we should just continue the course. I'd rather make the Trump argument than the Biden argument.
Bidenomics ?
