At least she lost!

Susanna Gibson lost a winnable race, but only by a few hundred votes

Makes you wonder if there is any decency left in the Democratic Party when you would vote for little more than a porn star as your representative just because.

The reality is that pretty much any generic Democrat would have likely won this seat for them. It was not a "great" night in Virginia, but we have to keep in mind that Trump lost there by 10 points. But having Gibson lose was at least some consolation. Now she can go back to peeing on her Husband for money on line.

Contrary to what some naysayers are saying out there... there were plenty of pro-Biden districts that went Republican last night. In Virginia they won every Trump district and 9 Biden districts. They would have had to won at least three races where Biden had won by double digits to take over the Virginia legislature. So much of the so called GOP failure in Virginia is media spin. For whatever reasons conservatives seem to be less inclined to try to spin election results and most conservative pundits are quick to go to the sky is falling routine.

I am not sure how many Democrats won races that were in extremely red areas last night. I know they won some races that people were hoping they didn't. but not sure if there were too many "surprise" victories either way. The reality is that over the past decade or so, Democrats have been outspending in off year and special elections by incredibly large margins. This election cycle was no different. But if what happened in Virginia happened across the country in 2024, the Republicans would be in a powerful position. Maybe people can figure out what they did there that worked instead of crying because they didn't take over the legislature (which was always a long shot).
