Cat ladies did vote for Harris, every other type of pet owner voted for Trump
This is not too surprising in my humble opinion. I can see why pet owners in general might be more apt to vote for Trump, especially dog owners. More likely to be married, own homes, have kids, and be somewhat more established. Also, as you can see, male dog owners voted almost 60% for Trump, which is the same rate that cat ladies voted for Harris, and there was no dog men memes or internet chants. Much like the Puerto Rico joke, the idea of Vance insulting cat-women was likely well overblown as a real difference maker. Not to say that cat ladies didn't vote for Harris, but I am guessing anyone offended by that was already voting for Harris.
The statistic does not show how many these where also "childless" - perhaps within the subset, there were a larger percentage of those who voted for Harris. But again, that just makes demographic sense as women without children (cats or not) were already voting for Harris at a 55% clip and unmarried women were voting for Harris at an over 60% clip. So it is entirely possible that the single childless cat women was Harris's best demographic, I suppose. But if the idea that somehow all pet-owners would rebel against Trump because of the Vance cat lady comment, then this falls right smack dab in the middle of why Harris lost and why so many don't understand why.
