Anti-redistricting Indiana Republicans take a beating in the primary elections!

Several Trump backed candidates overwhelmed the incumbents and it appears six of those who voted against redistricting lost their primary bid last night.

At the end of the night only a couple of those who voted against the redistricting plan are going to be on the ballot again in November. Obviously not all Senators are up for reelection, so there are still quite a few who voted against redistricting that will remain in the Senate. But I think this may have been a bit of an eye-opener.

The sad part about Indiana is that they have a supermajority in the Senate 40-10 and could not find enough votes to approve the redistricting efforts. Not sure what sort of reasoning was being used... sort of like an old guard we do not like this sort of stuff deal. But electing six new members who would vote for redistricting would (assuming nobody changes votes) to be 25-25 and one would assume that the Governor would be the tie breaker. That being said, I believe if they decided to redistrict after the next election I might assume those Republicans who voted Nay may decide it is in their best interests to change that vote.

Trump still has sway here folks... he pushed for primary battles and he won a vast majority of the races he endorsed a challenger and another challenger (not endorsed by Trump) beat an incumbent who voted against the redistricting.
