Another media scandal regarding their open assistance of Kamala Harris

Not only did CBS admittedly edit Harris' answers to make them appear more coherent for the showing on television, but the transcript they provided included the same edits.

Now calls for CBS to release the full unedited 60 Minutes interview of Kamala Harris is growing, as is the call for at least a release of the unedited transcript. But so far CBS has provided neither.

A problem exists when actual trailer clips released over social media from CBS end up being edited by the time they are shown on 60 minutes. Hard to suggest you didn't edit when you provided examples of these edits to the public.

Now certainly we already have some of the original to compare to the edited. But if those were what was released, one has to wonder how bad some of the other examples must be. There is certainly no reason to believe that the examples provided are the only examples out there.

The whole point of an interview of a candidate is not for the network to work hard to make them look good. The point is to let the country see who they are, good or bad. But with Harris, everyone in the media is looking to gloss over the bad and highlight what little good there is. They bend over backwards like a 13-year-old female gymnast. Even in these edited examples you see a lack of overall confidence from Harris that should be obvious to most people. She always seems like she is grasping for something and not quite sure of what should come out of her mouth next.

Now some are suggesting that the days of the Harris media blitz might be coming to a close. Talk of the 60 Minutes interview possibly being the last big thing she does seem the conventional wisdom right now. Now they must choose between the bad choices of letting these interviews be the lasting impression, or possibly engaging in others that could turn out worse.

I would provide a football analogy for all of this. When a team starts to trail you will often hear the analysts talk about how it is not the time to abandon the run game yet. But at some point, the team that is behind will need to start taking chances. For most of the campaign the Harris camp has used a strategy that suggested they were protecting a lead. They no longer have that feel about them. How the two candidates behave over the next couple of weeks will be key to understanding where both sides believe they are standing. If one side or the other starts to take chances or make moves, then you can believe they think they are behind. Right now, you get that feeling that Harris believes she needs to take a chance or two, while Trump is fine letting things play out as they are today.
