Another lie from the left...

This one about a five-year-old being arrested by ICE.

So the story apparently has ICE chasing a five-year-old from a pre-school, detaining him, and then shipping him to Texas. The truth is something slightly different.

The reality is that ICE had a warrant for a man whom they approached while getting into his car. He attempted to flee on foot and left his five-year-old behind. Obviously, ICE took the child out of the extreme cold and into an ICE vehicle. The child needed to be safe. They eventually caught the man, and he was sent to Texas awaiting any last-minute challenges before he is deported. As the law provides, an immigrant being deported can choose to take minor children with them or choose to leave them with someone in the United States that is willing and able to take care of them.

Now in this case, the boy lived with his father and shockingly his mother. But apparently the couple decided that the mother would not care for the child in the house he was accustomed to, but instead he would follow his father back to father's home country. Not only did they choose to have the child deported with his father, but they also choose to have the child accompany the father in the immigration detention area down in Texas.

Now the reality here folks is that many Americans who commit crimes and go to prison also have families. If they go to prison, then that is also family separation, no different than what is happening to deportees. We do not let people go because it harms others. I know someone who went to prison, and he had two grade school aged girls. They used to set a place at the table for their dad at every meal hoping that he might just show up and eat with them. It was traumatic for them and they, too, were innocent. I have no special love for those who somehow believe that it is the migrant that doesn't have to play by the same rules. The reason? Beats me... but "just because" seems as good an answer as any.

Bottom line... the anti-ICE movement is losing against ICE. Trump isn't backing down, Homan isn't backing down, and no number of lies will change this.
