About those GOP Congress folks upset with Tucker Carlson

They want you to believe that Jan 6th was more important because it happened to them...

As someone who lived through the Minneapolis George Floyd riots I can tell you that those riots were way more destructive, way more violent, way more damaging, and way scarier than the Jan 6th.

Over 1500 businesses were damaged and most of those businesses have not reopened. There was an estimated $500 million dollars in damages to the area. That was just Minnesota.

One state.

Over 2000 police officers were injured nationally in those Floyd protests. In Minnesota dozens of officers were injured so seriously as to qualify to collect money from the city of Minneapolis.

On the flip side the Jan 6th riot was said to have "cost" DC about $20 million and much of that was for additional post-Jan 6th security. The amount of police officers injured was reported to be around 200, but in terms of actual reported injuries that qualify for police leaves and the need for official injury reports was a fraction of that.

Nationally over 16,000 people were arrested in the post Floyd riots. But a majority of local authorities refused to prosecute anyone and overall less people ended up charged from these riots than were charged in the one Jan 6th riot.

Let that sink in. An estimated 2 billion in damages nationally, 2000 seriously injured police officers, thousand of businesses burned destroyed, 16,000 arrests...

And yet, we are to believe that this all pales into comparison to Jan 6th?

Why? Because this actually affected Mitch McConnell and others in Congress. For them it became real. Instead of showing any empathy for those who have dealt with social unrest, violence, and destruction... they simply turned selfish and demanded that we do something...

But only about what happened to them.
